What the AI looks for in Coffee & Espresso Machine Parts & Accessories

Exact machine model match: Match parts and accessories to the machine's full model number from the rating plate, not just the brand or series name. Gaskets, baskets, water filters and brew units often differ between near-identical models and revisions.
Portafilter diameter: Measure the basket's inner diameter. Common sizes are 58mm (commercial, E61 and many prosumer machines), 54mm (Breville Barista and Bambino series) and 51mm (many entry-level machines). Baskets, tampers, distribution tools and dosing funnels only work at the matching size.
Chemistry suited to the machine: Use backflush detergent for coffee-oil circuits, an acid descaler for scale, and an alkaline cleaner for milk systems. Using the wrong chemistry either fails to clean or can damage seals and boilers.
Warranty compatibility: While the machine is under warranty, prefer the manufacturer's own descaler and filters or cleaners it explicitly approves. Some makers, especially of super-automatics, can refuse warranty claims for scale or chemical damage.

Urnex: Widely used, machine-agnostic cleaners and descalers for espresso, milk and grinders.
Cafelat: Well regarded for silicone group gaskets and shower screens.
IMS: Precision filter baskets and shower screens, mainly in 58mm.
Breville: Genuine parts and filters for its own machines.
De'Longhi: Genuine descaler, filters and parts for its own machines.

Buying parts listed as fitting a whole brand without checking the specific model.
Pressurized baskets as an upgrade path on machines that take unpressurized ones, unless you use pre-ground coffee.
